At an event in Kilifi County the wife of Deputy President shed tears as she narrated how some women are going through ordeals to feed their children.
Pastor Dorcas Rigathi was speaking to religious leaders when she started weeping as those in attendance including journalists watched in shock.
She narrated how in Migori County women confessed how they have been selling their bodies to earn some coins to buy food for their children.
“I went to Migori, a widow is ‘selling’ her body to feed her child. And we are still talking about religion. Just ask yourself if that was your mother doing that to feed you and get your school fees. We need to go beyond religion and get them out of this mess,” she said as she wiped her teary eyes.
