When MP KJ was a comedian while at Kenyatta University [PHOTOS]

Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie, popularly known as KJ honed his acting skills while in high school and when he joined Kenyatta University he was a super entertainer.

The former member of Reddykulas comedy was popular with his character of mimicking the late Joseph Kamotho and late First Lady Mama Lucy when attempting such stunts was a risk taking matter.

KJ shot to limelight through a cartoon strip “Head on Corrishon” on Sunday Nation that he run for over a decade.

He was brought up alongside his seven brothers and schooled at Kileleshwa Primary School and at Dagoretti High School.

He however did not have motherly affection as their mother committed suicide when KJ was just months old.

“She committed suicide which led to my bad health just months after she gave birth to me. My family thought I was going to die” KJ revealed.

However, this did not stop him from going for his dream and he ended up being one of the popular entertainers in Kenya.

His late father David Waweru Ng’ethe was former Kandara MP and three-time presidential contestant.

KJ recalls he was tough and never allowed them to visit or get visited by other kids.

“We got a beating that came with a teaching. He would quote a verse from the Bible to justify his punishment” KJ narrated in a past interview.

The first time MP is the eighth MP for Dagoretti South since it was in 1963.
