The Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) has officially announced its decision to exit the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance Coalition.
Party leader Eugene Wamalwa emphasized that their involvement in the opposition coalition has become untenable.
“We can no longer remain in a partnership with those who do not share our values,” Wamalwa stated during the National Delegates Congress in Webuye, Bungoma County.

He noted that the ODM, an affiliate party, has joined the government, rendering collaboration impossible.
Earlier this year, NARC-K, led by Martha Karua, and PNU, headed by Peter Munya, also indicated their plans to exit the coalition, though the Registrar of Political Parties has yet to finalize their departures.

Tensions have increased following the appointments of ODM members Hassan Joho, Wycliffe Oparanya, John Mbadi, and Opiyo Wandayi to President William Ruto’s cabinet.
