A 22-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday night on suspicion of involvement in terror-related activities.
According to the National Police Service, officers from Kamukunji Police Station on patrol apprehended the suspect at around 11:20 p.m. after his “evasive and erratic behaviour” drew their attention.
The officers stopped and questioned him, then searched a bag he was carrying.
Inside, they found 21 detonators, 21 packets of a white substance believed to be ammonium nitrate, a five-metre electric cable, and other suspicious items.
The suspect was handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) for further interrogation as investigations continue.
