The popular Tanzanian reality TV singing competition, Bongo Star Search (BSS), which airs on StarTimes, is gearing up for auditions for its highly anticipated Kenyan edition next month.

This exciting news was announced at a press briefing held at the StarTimes Kenya offices, marking a significant expansion of the competition beyond Tanzania.

Notable attendees included Rita Paulsen, CEO of Benchmark 360 Limited, Tanzania, Tamima Ibrahim, StarTimes Marketing Director, Jing Du, Head of Content at StarTimes, and Myke Mwai, Head of PR at StarTimes Kenya.

Rita Paulsen revealed that auditions will take place on November 30 and December 1 at the Kenya National Theatre. She also shared that the overall winner of Bongo Star Search Season 15 will receive a grand prize of USD 10,000.

In a thrilling addition, popular Kenyan media personality and singer Sanaipei Tande will join the judging panel.

“We’re here in Kenya to discover exceptional talent, and the entire audition process will be free of charge,” Paulsen stated.

“We’ve successfully conducted similar searches in Uganda and other countries, and the top five contestants from Kenya will be flown to Dar es Salaam to compete with participants from other nations, with all expenses covered.”

The auditions are expected to attract a diverse array of participants, including singers, dancers, and musicians from various genres, all eager to showcase their talents.

Myke Mwai emphasized the unique opportunity this presents for Kenyan artists. “We are thrilled to introduce the Bongo Star Search Kenyan edition,” he said.

“This is not just a competition; it’s a platform for artists to shine and gain recognition. We believe Kenya is home to immense talent, and we’re dedicated to providing these artists with the exposure and opportunities they deserve.”

Winners from the Kenyan auditions will also have access to an exclusive mentorship program in Tanzania, where they can refine their skills ahead of the final competition.
