Nairobi City County Assembly speaker Kennedy Ng’ondi has urged the city elected leaders to counter what he termed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s plot to arouse hostility in the capital city.
Ng’ondi condemned Gachagua’s utterances during his meet the people tour of Wakulima and Marikiti markets on Friday saying it was ill-intended.
Gachagua touched on the planned relocation of some traders from the city markets.
“Don’t antagonise peace we enjoy today in Nairobi. We are not ready to go through that route” Ng’ondi said.

Adding “To our elected leaders in Nairobi lets come out and condemn the route Gachagua is taking us. We have chosen peace as a way of managing Nairobi. Let him retreat to Nyeri to talk such things and not here”.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja asked Gachagua to provide informed solutions and not stroke tribal disunity.
“Nairobi is a cosmopolitan global hub that will operate in an orderly manner. I can assure you of that. I know you are dealing with other weighty and impending political issues. Keep the people of Nairobi out of it” Sakaja responded.
