SanlamAllianz Insuarance Expands Footprint with New Thika Presence

SanlamAllianz General Insurance has expanded its operational footprint in Thika Town following the official launch of a new office aimed at strengthening insurance service delivery for businesses and residents. The move signals the firm’s push to tap into Thika’s manufacturing cluster and the expanding network of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that dominate the town’s commercial landscape. Thika, a key economic hub in Kiambu County, hosts a significant number of agro-processing firms, manufacturing industries, and retail businesses that face operational risks ranging from equipment damage to business interruptions and market uncertainties.

Speaking , chief executive George Kuria said the company is designing insurance solutions tailored to the resilience and expansion needs of SMEs operating in dynamic business environments. Kuria said the strategy is anchored on strengthening the sustainability of local enterprises by providing risk protection products that support business continuity, investment confidence, and long-term commercial growth. “We are intentional about supporting SMEs by developing solutions that protect their operations, sustain their expansion, and enhance their resilience against economic shocks,” he said.

The insurer said the Thika office will serve as a service access point aimed at improving customer experience by reducing response time for claims processing and enhancing direct engagement with clients. By establishing a physical presence in the town, the company is seeking to strengthen distribution channels while positioning itself within one of the country’s fastest-growing industrial corridors. The expansion is part of the firm’s broader strategy to grow its footprint across emerging commercial centres as it competes for a share of Kenya’s evolving corporate and SME insurance market.
