City Hall.

Nairobi County Government has become the first authority to announce adoption of Starlink internet services.

The satellite internet company owned by the American tech mogul Elon Musk made entry into Kenya in July last year but last month caused ripples, triggering a huge uptake.

Individuals have embraced Starlink citing high connectivity speeds and lower prices as compared to major providers like Safaricom.

City Hall announced the uptake saying the integration will enhance services delivery.

The ICT Infrastructure Chief Officer Tiras Njoroge hailed the upgrade as bound to provide seamless, high-speed connectivity, allowing for faster and more reliable access to the Nairobi Pay System.

Elon Musk’s reaction.

“We are excited to announce the integration of Starlink satellite technology into our Customer Service Centre, aimed at enhancing and improving service delivery to the residents of Nairobi,” Njoroge said.

On twitter, Musk was excited and even reshared the story captioning it; “Starlink in Nairobi.”.

Starlink is providing internet connectivity with speeds ranging between 120 Mbps and 200 Mbps.
