ODM leader Raila Odinga has mourned the passing of Dr. Francis Ngaru, husband to former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament, Hon. Mumbi Ngaru.
In a heartfelt tribute, Raila said: “Mama Ida and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Francis Ngaru, the beloved husband of our longtime friend and comrade, Hon. Mumbi Ngaru.”
Raila recalled a longstanding personal connection with the late Dr. Ngaru, noting they first met while studying in Germany and had remained close friends ever since.
“He was a devoted patriot who served our nation with dedication in various capacities. To the Ngaru family, relatives, and friends, we extend our deepest condolences,” he said.
Mumbi Ngaru, a trusted ally of Raila, also served as the Mayor of Thika Municipal Council before joining the EALA.
