Standard Media Group is marking another significant step towards digital shift in news broadcast.
Today morning the company will unveil a new audio-visual studio for Radio Maisha.
The event at the company headquarters along Mombasa Road will coincide with the station’s 14th birthday.
“This event marks a significant milestone in our group’s broader digital transformation journey. This occasion is especially meaningful as it coincides with Radio Maisha’s 14th anniversary.” Marketing department said in an invitation email.
It will also be the day new CEO Marion Gathoga will meet all the company’s employees in one gathering for the first time since she took over 11 days ago.
It is expected she will address salaries issue and mass layoffs starting next month.

For a while the oldest media company in Kenya has been struggling to remain afloat.
Besides the Swahili station, it also owns Spice FM, Berur FM broadcasting in Kalenjin language and Vybez Radio.
In print division, the company runs The Standard newspaper and The Nairobian which is weekly.
It is rumoured barely a decade-old KTN News, Farmers TV and BTV were closed and programmes initially there will be aired on KTN Home.
Recently the company announced plans to raise Sh1.5 billion through a rights issue.
