Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the main suspect in the brutal murder of three women from Eastleigh, was arrested today in Kamukunji, Nairobi.
Muhumed is accused of killing Amina Abdirashid, her aunt Waris Dahabo Daud, and her niece Nuseiba Abdi Mohammed on October 21.
He had been on the run in Nairobi as authorities expanded their search to Somalia and Ethiopia.
Investigations indicate that Muhumed had illegally acquired a Kenyan identification card. Previously, he served as a police officer in Ethiopia but was imprisoned for allegedly murdering his wife.
After his release, he fled to Kenya, where he started a taxi business in Eastleigh and Parklands.
Police believe he knew the victims and had been involved in extortion activities in the city.

He has been taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters on Kiambu Road for further interrogation.
CCTV footage shows him picking up the three women individually in a Nissan Note.
Their bodies were later found scattered across various locations in Nairobi, and the vehicle was discovered abandoned at Wakulima Market.
