Police in Eldoret have arrested four suspects and recovered 59 stolen motorcycles and 35 engine parts.

The four include a garage owner, a marketer, and a suspected thief.

The syndicated targeted boda boda operators in Uasin Gishu and neighboring counties.

Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi said they were tipped-off by members of public.

According to Mwanthi, the thieves disable the motorcycles’ trackers after stealing them. They then interchange chassis numbers and body parts before selling them to unsuspecting buyers.
