The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Philip Nahashon Aroko as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong’ondo Were.
In an official statement, the DCI urged Aroko to present himself immediately at the nearest police station, emphasizing that compliance with the summons is not optional.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations requests Philip Nahashon Aroko to surrender immediately to the nearest police station.He is a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into the brutal murder of Hon. Charles Ong’ondo Were. Compliance with this request is mandatory,” the agency stated.
Aroko, a businessman and aspiring politician for the Kasipul parliamentary seat, is the latest figure drawn into the widening investigation.
So far, nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the MP’s killing. Among those in custody are Were’s bodyguard, Allan Omondi Ogolla, and his driver, Walter Owino.
Police suspect both men were linked to a criminal gang believed to have orchestrated the murder.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen disclosed that some of the MP’s close associates may have conspired with the killers.
The MP was gunned down on the evening of Wednesday, April 30, in Nairobi traffic by an assailant accompanied by a getaway rider on a motorbike.
