After a month-long recovery from injury, Harambee Stars Captain Michael Olunga is back in perfect form ahead of Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Cameroon next month.
The striker missed the AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Yesterday, he played his second match in Qatar Super League season since he recovered, scoring for the Al Dhuail.
In the 7th minute he missed a penalty but redeemed with an opening score in the 13th minute.
Duhail ended up beating the former champions Al Sadd 5-1 at the King Khalifa Stadium in Doha.
The Kenya national team drew with Zimbabwe earlier this month but a 2-1 victory against Namibia put the Stars on top of Group J.
Cameroon, five times AFCON winners, are second in the group.
Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat said they are not afraid of the Indomitable Lions.
“Cameroon should be thinking about how they want to crack us. I’m not afraid of them” Firat said.
Group winners and runners-up will qualify for the AFCON 2025 tournament set for Morocco.
The last time Kenya qualified for the continental show was in 2019 in Egypt.
