Makadara MP George Aladwa has reaffirmed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will continue to support President William Ruto, despite growing internal party criticism.
Speaking at a church service in Nairobi attended by President Ruto, Aladwa addressed concerns from ODM leaders who have voiced their dissatisfaction with the party’s collaboration with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Aladwa pointed to the President’s appointment of ODM members to his cabinet as clear evidence of the party’s support for Ruto’s government.
He stressed that elected ODM leaders would not hesitate to openly express this stance.
“Mr. President, I want to assure you that we will support you and visit you during the day without fearing anything because there is nothing to hide,” Aladwa said.

The legislator also emphasized ODM’s commitment to boldly supporting the President’s development agenda.
As ODM’s Nairobi branch chairman, Aladwa dismissed criticisms of the government’s inclusive approach, warning party members who oppose it that such dissent would diminish once Raila Odinga wins the position of African Union Commission Chairman.
“We are just waiting for Raila to win, and you will see what will follow next in our country,” Aladwa added.
The church service, which also saw the attendance of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, MPs from various political parties, and all ODM MCAs, culminated in a unanimous declaration of support for President Ruto.
“In Nairobi, we will not pretend about our support for you. We will work with you and visit you anytime,” Aladwa said, praising the President’s support for education programs in the city and calling for continued national government support.

ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna had recently stated that there was no official working relationship between ODM and UDA, suggesting that the President could still lose the 2027 elections, even with ODM’s backing.
However, Aladwa dismissed this view, asserting that ODM is already in a strong working relationship with UDA and that those opposing it are in denial.
