The nganya driver swerving on the road.

After a video of a Nairobi matatu driver swerving on road to entertain his passengers went viral, safety authority has taken action.

He was driving erratically in Sagana town, Kirinyaga county oblivious of dangers he posed to young people on board and other road users.

The passengers, school-going youths were drunk and unruly , some hanging out the windows.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) directed the sacco to present the driver and the vehicle to their inspection centre in Likoni, Nairobi for compliance assessment.

“The driver was subjected to a retest focusing on the Highway Code, Road Signs and Road Safety. He performed poorly in all the areas” NTSA said in a statement.

The body has suspended his driving licence and passenger service vehicle licence.

The matatu also failed the compliance inspection assessment.
