NCBA Group has reaffirmed its commitment to building safer, cleaner and more inclusive cities through collaboration, community empowerment and sustainable urban solutions. The bank made the commitment during the 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA), an event that brought together leaders from government, the private sector, development partners and civil society to reflect on the future of urban development in Kenya.
Speaking as the Guest Speaker, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said the bank remains guided by its mission of making customers’ lives easier while supporting initiatives that promote sustainable cities and inclusive growth.
“Guided by our mission to make customers’ lives easier, we continue to support initiatives advancing sustainable cities. As our cities grow, we are helping them thrive through solutions such as Nyumba Zetu, Solar PV Leasing, NCBA Easy Build, Washloan, and our broader hashtag#NCBAChangeTheStory agenda.” John Gachora, NCBA Group Managing Director.
He noted that for the past 25 years, KARA has played a key role in championing good governance, sustainable urbanisation and active citizen participation, making it a critical partner in advancing people-centred urban development.
NCBA further highlighted its environmental commitment under the #NCBAChangeTheStory initiative, which includes a pledge to plant 10 million trees by 2030 in partnership with communities and residents’ associations, as part of efforts to grow greener and more resilient cities.
The gala dinner provided a platform for dialogue, networking and celebration of progress made in urban governance, while reaffirming the importance of collaboration in shaping sustainable and inclusive cities for the future.
