Standard newspaper senior political writer Jacob Ng’etich has landed a plum Director of Press Service job at the office of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi picked the soft-spoken scribe to replace Salim Swaleh who was arrested and prosecuted for aiding fraudsters to defraud foreigners using Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office.
Ng’etich who has since started working at the premier’s office has been a journalist for 19 years, having worked at Nation Media for eight years before proceeding to Standard Media where he worked for 11 years.
He will be in charge of communication at Mudavadi’s executive office and his role as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
His new job is a leap from the apparent sinking media.
The Standard group which is struggling to pay salaries is in processing of sending home over 300 staff next month.
