Mzee Abdul Makasi, father of missing rapper Abdulkarim Mohamed popularly known as C’Zars has passed on.
Makasi died yesterday in Mombasa after battling some illness for some time.
He died without getting answers as to whereabouts of his son who disappeared 18 years ago.
C’Zars, a fast-rising and award-winning singer from Coast region went missing days before sitting his KCSE examination which was a week away.
Then he was 17 years old. If alive, the ‘Amka Ukatike’ hitmaker would be 35 years old.
Prior to C’Zars going missing, he was battling, among others, the pressure to perform in his KCSE exams and an unfulfilled promise from her aunt to relocate to the UK for further studies and music.
Makasi in a past interview wondered whether how he handled his son pushed him to the limit.

“I am a former musician, so I know the pressure that comes with fame. It was very easy for C’Zars to get into wrong company with his stardom. I just wanted to keep him on check,” he said.
The father claimed that industry sabotage and broken promises were some of the factors that led to the disappearance of his son.
The last time family saw him was on a Friday October 23, 2006.
His journey to stardom picked in 2003 when he won the Pure Oxygen Jam music competition, the most prestigious national music talent show then.

C’zars’ sophomore hit track Amka Ukatike, a club banger, become a national anthem.
In 2004, he bagged two awards at the Chaguo La Teeniez Awards. Then another one in 2005.
