Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, never one to shy away from the spotlight, is once again grabbing headlines—this time from 30,000 feet in the air.
In a series of videos posted during his ongoing world tour, the ever-flamboyant Sonko was captured jokingly asking a flight attendant for a massage, repeating the phrase, “Unipige masagiree”, much to the amusement of his followers.
The cabin crew member, who remained cheerful throughout the interaction, was seen serving Sonko his signature drink—Hennessy—described by the former governor as smooth, rich, complex, and fruity with hints of vanilla.
Even as the attendant prepared his bed for the long-haul flight to Frankfurt, Germany, Sonko kept recording, playfully bantering and entertaining his online audience in true Sonko style.
While it remains unclear whether the massage actually took place, the video ends with the flight attendant smiling as she walks away, leaving the ex-governor to rest. At one point, Sonko confidently quipped “kamekubali”, suggesting his request may have been taken in good humour—or even accepted.
Going beyond the light-hearted moment, Sonko—also known by his alias Kabumba Blaow—shifted tone mid-video, issuing a cryptic warning to unnamed individuals.
“Traveling is therapy that can heal all pain. Nikirudi, they will regret knowing me,” he declared, hinting at possible fireworks upon his return.
Whether meant as a joke or a subtle warning, Sonko’s message was loud and clear: the former city boss may be on vacation, but he hasn’t forgotten his rivals.
