An emcee and co-host on a local vernacular radio station is the actor who imitates late President Mwai Kibaki in the popular XYZ Show.
Ngoni wa Thuita popularly known as Ole Matope on TV screens plays Kibaki character on the show created by famous cartoonist Gado.
Ngoni who has become a household name is a co-host on Kameme FM afternoon show with his colleague Dennis Gathaiya.
The talented actor started his journey on KBC’s Vitimbi Show. He is able to imitate late President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta well.
The Murang’a-born artist is known for his Maasai language accent. For long he was thought to be a Maasai because of his appearance and accent. He is also good in imitating Luhya and Luos on his radio show.

The political satire show XYZ was started in 2009. It has been aired on Citizen TV, NTV, KTN and Kiss TV.
Ngoni plays alongside Keff Joinange acted by radio presenter Nick Odhiambo, Uhuru by Tom Mboyo, Raila by Dennis Mutuku and others.
Ngoni has also co-hosted a breakfast show with Sabina Wanjiru Chege, a nominated MP, on KBC’s Coro FM.
Initially, Ngoni was a casual labourer in mid 2000s. He was a construction worker in Mihang’o and Kayole areas but an encounter Peninah Nduta who acts as Kanini in Vitimbi, his world changed.
Nduta offered him an opportunity on the show and he never looked back. (Watch video below).
In a past interview he said he settled on the Maasai accent because no one was doing it on the show.
At first he tried to copy Alexander of Vioja Mahakamani show but decided to create his own character.
The father of two is married to Rose Njeri.
