NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua has left the Azimio la Umoja One coalition a day after it became apparent her leader Raila Odinga is being incorporated in President William Ruto government.
Karua who was Raila’s running mate in the 2022 elections has announced the move on her social media page.
In a letter to Azimio Secretary General Junet Mohammed, she said;
“Kindly take note that our stay in Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition is not tenable due to the prevailing political developments,”.

Karua said her party would be issuing a notice to exit the Coalition as stipulated in the exit clause (s) in the Coalition Agreement.
President Ruto yesterday picked ODM deputy party leaders Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya, chairman John Mbadi and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi to join his Cabinet.
Karua and other leaders in Azimio has taken this as a betrayal by Raila and his close associates.
