Livestock thief lynched in Kirinyaga after children raised alarm

Angry residents of Kanjinji in Mwea, Kirinyaga county lynched a butchery owner after they established he was behind theft of livestock in the area.

Children aged 5 and 4 years raised alarm prompting locals to respond.

The man stole a goat belonging to Stanley Magu and daringly slaughtered it as Magu’s children watched.

When he was done and started taking it away, the children who waited it to be prepared into a delicious meal started crying.

Residents on enquiring established what had transpired chased and cornered him before he run into a police post.

Police tried to intervene but were overwhelmed by residents who beat him and later set his body on fire.
