Lawyers hired by besieged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to defend him against impeachment motion in parliament will poke holes into 11 accusations levelled against him.
Gachagua has assembled a team of 20 advocates led by senior counsel Paul Muite.
Victor Swanya, one of his lawyers has revealed an area they will challenge as the DP appears before the Parliament today afternoon.
Swanya said they will contest how the public participation was executed last week on Friday and Saturday.
He says many believers who worship on those two days were not given opportunity to exercise their constitutional rights.

“We have quite a huge population in Kenya that worships on Saturday and I know they are very strict. They are in church and their church finishes sometimes six. What about them?” Swanya posed.
He noted that another huge chunk of population that also worship on Friday like Muslims was not considered.
Parliament said a total of 224,907 submissions were received regarding the motion sponsored by Kibwezi West MP, Mwengi Mutuse.

Out of the total responses, 146,429 individuals support Gachagua’s ouster while, 76,026 participants, or 33.80%, opposed the move.
