Prof Kithure Kindiki while appearing before Parliamentary Appointments Committee for the second vetting for the Interior Cabinet Secretary post today, he revealed a sharp rise in his net worth.
Kindiki served as CS in this position before President Ruto dissolved the cabinet and latter announced a new one, nominating the former law lecturer the same powerful position.
Kindiki said his wealth has jumped from Sh544 million in October 2022 to Sh694 million.
Within 21 months he was in the government, his worth increased by Sh150 million.
The 52-year-old lawyer attributed the growth to his law firm.
“I said at that time, which I still do now, that I run a business which today even if I do not practise law, is working and much of that revenue has come from it. It is still active and being managed by other people,” he told the committee.
Adding; “I have not done any business with the government, any tender by myself, proxy, relative or anybody.”
