Three people perished in a road accident involving five vehicles at Kapmakaa area in Kericho county yesterday.
At around 3.45pm a 14-seater matatu travelling from Londiani to Kericho collided head-on with a tanker that along the Kericho-Mau Summit Road.
“The driver of the oil tanker lost control of the vehicle and hit the matatu head on causing it to roll,” Kericho County Traffic Enforcement Officer Selina Chirchir said.
Three other cars which were behind the matatu were also rammed by the tanker.
Chirchir said the dead include a woman and two men who were travelling in the matatu.
Several passengers were taken to Kericho County Referral Hospital for treatment with various injuries.
