Kenya and Egypt are intensifying efforts to boost trade, investment, and regional connectivity as part of their long-standing bilateral partnership.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, attended a reception hosted by Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, at the Egyptian Embassy in Nairobi, where discussions focused on expanding private sector investment flows between the two countries.
PS Mudavadi said Egyptian partners reaffirmed Kenya’s role as a key gateway to East and Central Africa, expressing strong interest in establishing a logistics hub in the country to facilitate trade across the region.
The Kenyan delegation included Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui and Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Eric Mugaa, while Egypt was represented by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Swelium and Ambassador to Kenya Hatem Yousri Hosni.
The meeting underlined both countries’ commitment to strengthening economic ties, enhancing regional trade, and creating infrastructure that supports private sector growth.
