The Kenya Defence Forces has responded to pleas of Kamagambo residents in Thika Town, Kiambu county regarding a road in bad state.
The Gatundu-Munyu road has been a nightmare especially during the rainy season.
KDF Corps of Engineers have started rehabilitating it with plans to do murram layering, drainage installation, and paving of approximately 2.5 kilometers of road, stretching from the Thika-Garissa Highway to Mountain View Phase Two.
This initiative is part of the KDF Civil-Military Cooperation projects, aimed at giving back to the community in preparation for KDF Day, set to be observed on 14th October 2024.

Brigadier Mburu acknowledged the community’s request for assistance and mentioned that after extensive consultations, the road works were approved.
He emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between the KDF and the Thika community, adding that the improved road would facilitate the movement of people and goods in all weather conditions, promoting the area’s economic growth.
The Commanders committed to ensuring the road’s timely and high-quality completion, also revealing plans for future projects in Makongeni and Kiganjo areas in Thika.
Key officials present at the launch included Deputy Brigade Commanders Col Andrew Kapkomoi and Col Maurice Wasomi, Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) representative Stanley Kang’ethe, and local leadership representatives.
