A Jambojet aircraft was damaged last night after it rolled and collided with a pole while undergoing maintenance at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a statement issued this morning, the airline confirmed that the Q400 aircraft was undergoing routine overnight maintenance when it unexpectedly rolled off the ramp and struck a pole, causing damage to its nose.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
“We are working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the incident and take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence,” Jambojet said.
The incident has raised concerns regarding the adherence to safety protocols, as investigations continue to determine the cause of the mishap.
