Immediate former Isiolo South legislator Abdi Koropu Tepo was arrested in possession of counterfeit US dollars amounting to Ksh400 million in Nairobi.
Tepo who was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts yesterday was cornered at his house in Donholm estate on Thursday with 34, 200 fake dollars.
According to court documents, he was also found in possession of a semi-automatic pistol and 80 rounds of 9 mm calibre without a valid license from the Firearms Licensing Board.
Appearing before senior principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, Tepo denied all the counts, which also included conspiracy to produce and distribute counterfeit euro banknotes after the police nabbed him with 300 pieces of soft paper that approximate its proprietary blend.
He was released on a Ksh300,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh100,000.
The case will be mentioned on August 12, 2024, for pretrial.
