Being ditched by a lover is heartbreaking but even worse losing such to person of same sex with him or her.
This is what happened to Kikuyu secular artist Dr Eddie Gathenge who lost his lover to another woman.
Gathenge of the hit songs “Matuini Ni Gwitu” and “Ciahoha” revealed in an interview how he was left devastated and even composed a song about it.
“It is a true story. She used to tell me she didn’t have another man in her life only to learn she was into fellow woman” Gathenge revealed.
“She was taken by a fellow lady. I couldn’t believe it” he said.
In the song “Nindarwarire” (I Got Sick) Gathenge mourns about the loss and even begs her to come back to his life even if it would be both of them.
“That Saturday I bumped on both of you in bed is where my health problems started. I wish I found you with a man like me” he sings.
He sings that while with his friends and colleagues he is ridiculed and called a toothless canine.
Gathenge is now happily married.
