Management of Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club is on spot for refusing to pay former employee salary arrears.
The facility in Nairobi’s upmarket neighbourhood was built by late politician and powerful Cabinet Minister John Michuki 22 years ago.
Though it is a top hotel with a high income, the owners through the management have decided to deny justice Christopher Kiarie who worked there for 19 years.
Kiarie left the five-star facility in 2021 and though he was promised to get his arrears amounting to Sh1.1 million, the management has dismissed his pleas.
During the COVID 19 pandemic period, Kiarie received 20 percent of his salary for over a year.
“When I left, the hotel was supposed to settle the balance. They promised to expedite the pay but not only have they dishonoured the promise, they don’t communicate” Kiarie told the defender.

According to him, the hotel management claims they owe him Sh1.1 million but he claims if calculated properly, they should pay him Sh1.9 million.

His case has been highlighted by media and the Kenya Union of Domestic Hotels Educational Institutions Hospitals & Allied Workers reportedly tried to intervene but they were not successful.
“I am going through a financial difficulty yet my money is lying somewhere in the hands of people who do not care about others” he lamented.
