The High Court has suspended the election of Cricket Kenya officials and barred the board from holding any Annual General Meeting (AGM), related meetings, or initiating disciplinary action against the applicant, Kalpesh Solanki.
The court order will remain in force until a final judgment is delivered next month.
On the same day, the matter will be mentioned before the Hearing Panel, which is expected to issue a ruling and provide further directions.
The orders follow a suit filed by Solanki, who is challenging his suspension as Treasurer.
He argues that despite the case being fully heard and judgment pending, the Cricket Kenya board has scheduled an AGM for Wednesday at Ruaraka Sports Club.
“The respondents’ continued actions, despite knowledge of the pending proceedings, constitute an attempt to pre-empt the tribunal’s decision and render the judgment of May 6th ineffective,” the court noted.
Solanki, through his lawyer Danstan Omari, claims that proceeding with the AGM could result in irreparable harm, including the risk of removal, if discussions on his suspension take place.
