Former DP Rigathi Gachagua.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that some leaders are being threatened for associating with him.

Speaking in Ruiru, Gachagua said that some leaders are being threatened for associating with him over his call for unity in the mountain.

“Some people are being threatened because they are seen with me or when they call for unity. We will continue reaching out to everyone across the region,” Gachagua said.

He urged President William Ruto, Raila Odinga and other leaders across the country to unite their communities.

The DP highlighted his success in fostering unity within the region, with only a small fraction remaining unaligned.

“A few people have an issue with this unity, but unity is a positive force,” he added.

Reiterating the importance of local politics, Gachagua pointed out that every leader has a local base.

“Recently, Muthama called for unity in the eastern region without backlash. Similarly, Wetangula united the Luhya community without criticism why is it me when I call for my people to unite? ” he asked.

Gachagua argued that regional unity enhances bargaining power in elections.

He acknowledged Mount Kenya’s support for the Kenya Kwanza government and expressed his commitment to leading the community effectively.
