Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on President William Ruto to enact government reforms and policies with the same urgency that characterized his impeachment process.

Speaking at a burial service in Kabare, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua stressed that proposals like the Coffee Bill 2023, which he introduced, deserve the same immediate attention as his impeachment motion, which he argued was hastily pushed through both the National Assembly and the Senate.

“The speed they used to remove me should be applied to passing the coffee bill. It should be approved at night, published in the Gazette, and in the morning the president should be asked to sign it. The speed of my removal was incredibly fast,” Gachagua said.

He made it clear that he bears no ill will toward Ruto but urged him to follow through on the promises made to Kenyans during the 2022 campaigns.
