Former Kiminini legislator Chris Wamalwa has ditched Ford Kenya party and declared interest in joining the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), eyeing the party’s Secretary General (SG) post.
Ford Kenya party is headed by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
He revealed his move today at Kabuyefwe, Trans Nzoia County.
Wamalwa who served for two terms as an MP said his decision to join UDA party came after he consulted Trans Nzoia residents.
“I am officially joining UDA and will be running for the secretary general position. I am ready to send home the interim SG, Hassan Omar, so that we can steer the party to the next level,” Wamalwa stated.
Wamalwa, who served as the Ford Kenya’s SG fell out with Wetang’ula after he did not make it to President William Ruto’s Cabinet.
He vied for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat but was defeated by Governor George Natembeya in the 2022 general election.
