The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced a partnership with the Communist Party of China (CPC) to set up a leadership academy in Kenya.
This collaboration was unveiled following bilateral talks between UDA leaders and a CPC delegation led by Li Xi on Monday in Nairobi.
UDA expressed its commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
“During the discussions, the CPC delegation, led by H.E. Li Xi, agreed to collaborate with UDA, particularly in the creation of a Leadership Academy,” a UDA statement confirmed.
The UDA delegation was headed by party chairperson and Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire, alongside Secretary General Hassan Omar.

The meeting also included members of the UDA National Executive Committee, National Election Board, and other party officials.
Notable attendees were Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migosi Ogamba, UDA Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot, UDA Organizing Secretary Vincent Kawaya, Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei, and MP Nelson Koech from Belgut.

After the talks, Li Xi and his delegation are scheduled to meet with President William Ruto at State House. Li Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, is in Kenya for a three-day visit, having arrived on Saturday night.
