Elias Njeru, who had a secret relationship with Florence Wanjiku before a violent attack exposed their affair, has also shared his side of the story.
Njeru, a prominent member of the Jesus Compassion Ministry led by radio presenter-turned-pastor Benson Gathungu (Muthee Kiengei), revealed that he has another wife.
In an interview on the YouTube show Metha ya Kagoni, Njeru disclosed that he has been married to Wairimu for over a decade, and the two were planning a formal wedding next year.
“Things have been going well, and we’ve been together for 12 years. Our marriage has been strong, with no major issues, and we are planning a formal wedding next year,” Njeru said.
He explained that his relationship with Wairimu began when they were both teenagers in their village.
Their bond deepened further when they both attended Kenyatta University, before starting a family.
Wairimu, a mother of three, had no knowledge of Njeru’s affair with Wanjiku or the child she had with him, a son who is now one year and eight months old.
Njeru and Wanjiku, who co-owned a real estate property before parting ways, had started their business venture two years ago, which led to their affair and the child.

Wairimu learned of the affair when Wanjiku sent her a birth certificate through WhatsApp earlier this year.
Wanjiku claimed that Njeru had her arrested during a trip from Nairobi to Nakuru, locking her up at a police station.

Angry and hurt after a confrontation of the two at the station, Wanjiku returned home and eventually revealed the affair and the child to Wairimu.
Njeru admitted that he apologised to his first wife when the truth came to light.

“I didn’t want Wairimu to find out early because I wanted to be fully involved in my child’s life. I was just buying time. Wairimu is doing well now and has been praying for me,” he said.
