Arsenal club are eyeing Sweden star striker Viktor Gyökeres, willing to spend about £70 million to buy him.
According to news reports, the club is already in talks with Primeira Liga club Sporting CP to sign the 27-year-old sporting prolific with Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta leading negotiation.
Gyökeres has been linked with a whole host of Europe’s elite off the back of another stellar season with Sporting but Arsenal remains the Swede’s preferred destination, with the Gunners in the market for a quality No.9 this summer.
Though a deal has not been finalised, Gyökeres continues to be strongly linked with a move to the Premier League following a prolific spell in Portugal, where he scored 97 goals in 102 appearances over two seasons.
Meanwhile, Arsenal finalized the £60 million signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Gyökeres spent three years as a youngster at Brighton before his career took off during two seasons at Coventry City.
