AFC Leopards, one of the Kenyan Premier League’s top clubs, has officially ended its relationship with acting Chief Executive Officer Albert Wesonga.

In a statement shared on the club’s social media channels this morning, the club announced that the decision follows the expiration of Wesonga’s contract.

“This is to inform our valued customers, suppliers, and the public that Albert Wesonga is no longer the Acting CEO of AFC Leopards SC. He is not authorized to conduct any business or represent the club in any capacity,” the statement read.

Wesonga was appointed to the interim CEO position last October after Victor Bwibo, who had served for five years, departed.

The announcement comes just hours after the club revealed that their upcoming match against Mara Sugar FC, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed to a later date.

Currently, the 12-time league champions sit fourth in the league standings with 10 points, following a recent 1-0 defeat to Murang’a Seal and a 1-1 draw with Kariobangi Sharks just three days prior.
