Newsline Media and Training Agency has continued to grow since its establishment on April 25, 2021, when it was first launched as a digital news platform.

Over the years, the organization has transitioned from a news website into a full-fledged media training and production hub, offering attachment opportunities for students pursuing studies in Media, Information Technology (IT), Film, and Public Relations.

The agency now provides hands-on training and industry exposure in key areas including news reporting and writing, videography, photography, video and audio editing, graphic design, radio and TV broadcasting, Photoshop, film production, digital content creation, crisis communication and management, as well as corporate communication training.

Speaking during an exclusive interview at the organization’s offices in Thika, Managing Director Faith Mukundi said the initiative was established to bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical industry skills.

“We realized many students come from these institutions with theoretical knowledge but lack actual skills needed in the fields of their specialization. Our goal is to equip them with the necessary skills that will make them ready for the job market,” she said.

Mukundi noted that students who join the programme are exposed to real newsroom and production environments, helping them build confidence and professional competence before entering the job market.

She added that the agency is committed to expanding its training programmes and strengthening partnerships with learning institutions across the country in order to reach more young people interested in media, film, and public relations careers.

“When we had our first intake of attachment students in January 2025, we mostly had students from institutions around Thika like Mount Kenya University and Gretsa University. However, we are now receiving students from institutions across Kenya,” she said.

Beyond training, Mukundi revealed that Newsline Media is also actively engaged in public relations consultancy services, helping organizations with media relations, communication strategy, content development, and brand storytelling.

She said the dual focus on training and professional services ensures students gain exposure to real client work while the organization maintains industry relevance.
