The court has extended the detention of musician Alex Apoko, popularly known as Ringtone, until Monday as it awaits a pre-bail report in a Sh50 million property fraud case.
Ringtone and his co-accused, Alfred Juma Ayora, appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego on Thursday. Both denied three charges levelled against them by the prosecution.
The two are accused of unlawfully seizing property belonging to Teresia Athiambo Odhiambo on February 28, 2023.
Court documents allege that Ringtone swore a false affidavit at the law firm of S.M. Katonya Advocates, falsely claiming he had owned the property for over 20 years.

The prosecution stated that this affidavit was later used in a case before the Environment and Land Court to support his claim to the disputed land.
Magistrate Alego directed that a pre-bail report be compiled to assist in determining appropriate bail or bond conditions.
Both suspects have been remanded at Capital Hill Police Station and are scheduled to return to court on May 19.
