Speculation is mounting over whether celebrated Citizen TV Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan is preparing to enter the political arena ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rumours gained traction after branded campaign merchandise—featuring her image and the slogan “Lulu Hassan Mama Mvita”—began circulating widely on TikTok.

The items, including t-shirts and reflector jackets, have sparked conversations about a possible bid for the Mvita parliamentary seat in Mombasa County.

Although Hassan has yet to make any public declaration regarding her political ambitions, sources close to her suggest she has been stepping up her involvement in community initiatives within the constituency.

This increased grassroots engagement has further fuelled speculation that she could be positioning herself for a run in 2027.

The Mvita parliamentary seat is currently held by Mohamed Machele.

While the public awaits official word from the media personality, the growing signs suggest that Hassan could be testing the waters for a potential political transition.
