Kenyan-born political activist Cosmas Ombori Monari alias Cosmo Choy, who is based in the United States, has expressed frustration after quitting a well-paying job abroad in anticipation of a government position under President William Ruto’s administration.
Choy, a vocal supporter of Ruto during the 2022 presidential campaign, says he returned to Kenya with the expectation of being offered a role in the government.
However, he now claims the President is not responding to his calls, leaving him feeling abandoned.
“I left a good job in the U.S. because I believed in this government and thought I would be given an opportunity to serve. Now, the President won’t even pick up my calls,” Choy lamented.
His remarks have stirred conversation online, with many weighing in on expectations of political reward and the realities of government appointments.
