Gor Mahia Vs KCB in a past match.

Gor Mahia will face KCB in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos this morning.

The game was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the same venue but was postponed after a heavy downpour following the Nairobi City Stars vs Kenya Police match.

The rain made the pitch unplayable, and for safety reasons, the match was called off and rescheduled for Monday.

“The match has been called off after match officials deemed the playing surface unplayable due to heavy rains before kick-off,” read a statement from KCB on Sunday evening.

Both teams are eager to secure maximum points to close the gap on leaders Police and second-placed Tusker.

Police and Tusker both dropped points on Sunday—Police were held to a goalless draw by Simba wa Nairobi, while Tusker drew 1-1 with Mara Sugar in Awendo.

Police currently lead the table with 49 points, just one ahead of Tusker in second place. Gor Mahia sit third with 43 points and have two games in hand.

Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos was flooded after heavy rains.

If they win both matches, they could level on points with the leaders and boost their chances of securing a record-extending 22nd league title in Kenya’s top-tier football competition.

KCB are in fifth place with 40 points, nine points behind the leaders, and still very much in the title race.

They will be looking to take points off Gor Mahia to keep their title hopes alive. The first-leg encounter between the two teams ended in a goalless draw.
