Peter Wachiuri made history as the first Kenyan to compete in the prestigious MODUS Super Series in the UK, a weeklong tournament that attracts top darts players from around the world.
The tournament kicked off on February 24, with Wachiuri placed in Group A, alongside five other players from the UK, Netherlands, and USA.
In his debut match on Monday, Wachiuri triumphed over Leonard Gates from the USA, winning 4-3.
However, he narrowly lost the next four matches, going down 3-4 to Colin Osborne (England), 2-4 to Donny Scheurwater (Netherlands), 2-4 to Barry Copeland (Ireland), and 2-4 to Noa-Lynn Van Leuven (Netherlands).
On Tuesday, Wachiuri showed marked improvement, securing victories over Barry Copeland (4-1) and Donny Scheurwater (4-0).
His highlight performance came against Copeland, where he finished a brilliant 126-point Bulls Eye and later sealed a Double-12 finish.
Despite these impressive wins, Wachiuri lost to Noa-Lynn (3-4), Gates (4-2), and Osborne (4-2).
By Wednesday, Wachiuri was in top form, claiming two more wins against Noa-Lynn (4-2) and Scheurwater (4-2).
However, he couldn’t get the better of Osborne, Copeland, or Gates, losing all three of those matches.
In the end, Wachiuri finished 5th in Group A with 10 points, a commendable effort in his first appearance at such a high-profile event.
Colin Osborne topped the group with 26 points, automatically qualifying for the Final on Saturday.
Looking ahead, Wachiuri has another opportunity to qualify for the Final. He was placed in Group C, along with Noa-Lynn and Scheurwater, and three new players.

Matches were played on Thursday and Friday, with the top two players from the group advancing to the Final on Saturday.
