Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz played out a goalless draw in a Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League match at the Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday evening.
K’Ogalo were aiming to build on their 2-0 victory over Sofapaka at Kenyatta Stadium on Wednesday, while Abana Ba Ingo were hoping to continue from their 1-0 win over Bidco United on the same day.
However, the match turned out to be a lackluster affair, with Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno’s Gor Mahia side struggling to register a shot on target.
Homeboyz forward Pius Wangi came closest to scoring in the 19th minute, hitting the post with Gor goalkeeper Kevin Omondi beaten.
Gor Mahia were fortunate to walk away with a point after an 84th-minute header from Moses Shummah was wrongly ruled out for offside.
At the final whistle, home fans expressed their frustration over the disallowed goal, confronting the center referee in protest.
