A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Nairobi’s Huruma area on suspicion of killing his wife.
Police officers on patrol intercepted John Kiama Wambua on Tuesday early morning as he walked along Kelly Towers.
Upon searching his bag, officers discovered parts of a human body.
Wambua admitted that the body parts belonged to his 19-year-old wife, Joy Fridah Munani.
He then led the police to his home, where additional mutilated body parts were found hidden beneath his bed.
Blood-stained kitchen knife and female clothes were recovered from the crime scene. The floor was stained with blood; indicating the gory nature of which Munani died.
The body parts were moved to the City Mortuary awaiting postmortem analysis.
Wambua is now in custody at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices in Starehe, as authorities continue to investigate the murder.
