Paul Pogba will officially leave Juventus on November 30 after the club and the French midfielder reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
The 31-year-old, who was handed a four-year suspension for a doping violation in February, had his ban reduced to 18 months in October.
The suspension is retroactively effective from his provisional ban in September 2023, meaning Pogba will be eligible to resume training in January 2025 and return to playing from March onwards.
As a result, he will be free to sign with a new club during the January transfer window.
Juventus expressed their best wishes to Pogba for the future, with a statement reading: “The club wishes Paul the very best for his professional future.”
Before the suspension, Pogba was earning £6.9 million annually at Juventus, with his contract set to run until June 2026. However, sources indicate the club reduced his salary to around £2,000 per month as part of an agreement between the player’s union and the club.
Pogba’s playing time has been limited in recent seasons. In the 2022-23 campaign, he featured in just five games, accumulating only 162 minutes. Last season, he made just one brief appearance as a substitute before his suspension was enforced.
With the reduction of his ban and his departure from Juventus, Pogba now has the chance to relaunch his career starting in 2025.
The French midfielder began his professional journey at Manchester United before joining Juventus, where he won four consecutive Serie A titles and two domestic Doubles. In 2016, he returned to Old Trafford for a then-record £89 million fee, helping the club win the Europa League and FA Cup in his first season.
Pogba was also a key figure in France’s 2018 World Cup victory, scoring in the final as Les Bleus triumphed 4-2 over Croatia.
