Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has landed a government job after a previous appointment was declared unconstitutional by court.

In a gazette notice dated November 15, President William Ruto has appointed Kidero as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Trading Corporation, for a period of three years.

He replaces Hussein Tene Debasso who appointment has been revoked.

Kidero has been in the political cold for seven years after losing the city county leadership to Mike Sonko and then failed to clinch the Homabay gubernatorial seat in the last elections.

Early last year Kidero alongside others was appointed as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in Trade and Industrialization Ministry.

The 50 CAS positions were rendered null and void by the court.

Ruto also appointed businessman and politician Thuo Mathenge as chairperson of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, former Kacheliba MP Mark Lomunokol as the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Sports Kenya and others.

Last month the President appointed Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga as chairperson of the Nairobi Rivers Commission and member of the commission respectively.

Omanga however declined to take up the job citing personal reasons for rejecting the job offer.
